We had the pleasure to exchange a few words with Stefano Rizzi, Director of the Economic Division of Ticino, about the first edition of the Monaco et Suisse Investment Forum and the synergies between these two realities.
As Canton Ticino’s Economic Division, you attended the first edition of the Monaco et Suisse Investment Forum in 2021. How did you experience the event and what potential did you identify?
Participating to the first edition of the Monaco et Suisse Investment Forum was an excellent opportunity to promote the real estate sector – which plays a very important role for our economy – promoting exchanges and the development of synergies between Ticino and Monegasque companies active in this field. Our presence has also made it possible to promote mutual knowledge of the two regions and to promote our canton outside national borders.
What initiatives, in your opinion, should be taken to encourage more investment in projects of common interest to Switzerland and Monaco?
Our two countries are complementary realities. During the Monaco et Suisse Investment Forum we had the opportunity to highlight the strengths of Ticino economy and to present our canton as an economic and tourist destination. A region dedicated to innovation and an ideal place for the development of innovative business activities, thanks also to the many leading companies and many renowned research institutes in Ticino. In particular, one area of great interest could be lifestyle tech. This is an area that has grown a lot in recent years in Ticino, thanks to the creation of the Lifestyle Tech Competence Centre, which promotes the development of synergies between companies and research institutes in innovative technologies related to design, health, travel, fashion, food and media.
Do you have any expectations for the second edition of the forum scheduled for March 17, 2023?
We are happy to see this initiative is continuing, maintaining an openness and a look towards other realities. This is a valuable opportunity to meet and build bridges and develop synergies across national borders. We wish you every success for this new edition.
